If you are just starting out with Internet marketing, the task may seem a difficult one. In order to succeed you have to keep trying. The main reason for failure in those who get frustrated or give up is that they do no stick to one thing.
Most new startups tend to get going with a product and then find that the sales are not flooding in as they expected it to. Therefore, they look for a quick solution: find some miracle product advertised by a guru and latch on to it. When the product fails to deliver, they follow the cycle repeatedly. By this time a competitor with the same initial product, who did not get discouraged, has plugged away patiently and started generating sales in vast quantities. His secret? Perseverance.
There are three reasons why jumping from product to product is detrimental.
1. Most of the internet gurus who suddenly appear are unreliable operations. What they sell you is a gimmick. Do not fall for it. Research, talk to people who use those products, and make your decision wisely, especially if this is the first product you are buying.
2. Every time you buy a product, you spend money. If the cycle continues, you end up spending money that you could put to better use.
3. You waste time. Time that could have spent productively trying to build your business (like the competitor described above) is wasted on trying to learn and promote new products.
The bottom line is if you stick to a proven business model, keep improving it and persevere. You will find better ways to promote your product and generate sales.
