There are plenty of USB devices that serve several purposes, and not only does it give the customer to keep their computer’s configuration as it is, while also being able to add external devices in order to suit their personal and professional purposes.
Take for example, the USB device known as the docking station, which provides users with several types of ports such as serial, parallel, PS/2, networking, Ethernet and even more USB ports that you can use along with the ones that are already on your computer. All you have to do is connect the USB jack to the USB port on your computer, and this is how most USB devices work.
Another device is the USB IDE adapter, which is used to support external storage devices such as hard disks, and without which one has to add another internal hard disk to his computer by opening it up and so on and so forth. And so, this adapter helps one to bypass the reconfiguring of one’s computer by allowing them to store information on the external hard disk, after which, one can disconnect it by just pulling the USB plug.
It’s as easy as that!
The last device is the USB serial cable adapter which one can use to get a couple more serial ports which amount to just two on most computers by using the USB port, and this can turn out to be a helpful device as there are a host of devices that need a serial port.
